Position OverviewKiewit Power Engineering Group is seeking an experienced-level Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to be a part of our growing team. We are looking for ideal candidates who can provide instrumentation & control discipline technical expertise as well as I&C team leadership for the execution and evaluation of project designs. You will work independently on small projects or as part of a large multi‑discipline team on larger projects, including working with both internal and external engineers and construction partners to deliver our clients the industry’s best of both engineering and physical design.
Project assignments range from support of proposals and estimates to technical design execution to construction and commissioning support.

Our staff leads the power markets engineering process and collaborates with Kiewit’s construction teams to approach construction‑driven engineering with a focus on safe, cost‑effective, and innovative designs that achieve client expectations and further Kiewit’s legacy of excellence.
LocationThis position can be based in any of the following office locations:
Lenexa, KS;
Lone Tree, CO;
Houston, TX;
Raleigh, NC;
Phoenix/Tempe, AZ;
New York City, NY; or Woodcliff Lake, NJ. For roles in Chattanooga, TN;
Detroit, MI; or Richmond, VA, the position will start remotely and transition to a hybrid/in‑office arrangement once the new office is established.
- Act as a lead or support engineer on a multitude of pursuits and projects providing front‑line technical issue solutions associated with design, construction, equipment and/or operations of SCADA system replacement/upgrades and other I&C projects for power projects.
- Evaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria for projects of all sizes and levels of complexity.
- Incorporate the requirements of contract and customer Requests for Proposals (RFPs), professional service agreements, or other contractual requirements ensuring the projects meet or exceed project goals.
- Contribute to the development of client proposals and project cost estimates. Lead cost, feasibility and planning studies, analyzing customer needs and data including researching, investigating and coordinating with other engineers, and providing recommendations to the customer.
