Sr. Civil Engineer – Municipal Infrastructure & Project Leadership
Join a multidisciplinary team delivering high-impact municipal infrastructure projects. Lead major initiatives from pursuit through construction, guiding a team of engineers, collaborating with public sector clients, and representing the firm in community and board settings.
What You’ll Do- Manage full project lifecycle for municipal engineering projects including road rehabilitation, stormwater management, subdivisions, land development, and utility design
- Oversee capital improvement projects for public sector clients, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery
- Develop project work plans, budgets, and construction cost estimates
- Review and approve project plans, shop drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Coordinate technical developments, scheduling, and resolution of engineering and construction issues
- Represent the firm at municipal planning, zoning, and land-use board meetings
- Communicate project updates to clients, public officials, and community stakeholders
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering technical skills and professional growth
- Support business development through client relationships, proposals, and pursuit of new opportunities
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering; NJ PE required
- 6+ years of progressive experience managing municipal infrastructure or land development projects
- Strong site development experience preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D; GIS and Hydroflow experience a plus
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to represent the firm effectively in public and client-facing settings
- Proven project management and leadership skills across multiple municipal projects
- Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and mentor staff effectively
- Strong interpersonal skills with a client-focused mindset
- Experience presenting technical information to public officials and boards
- Self-directed, organized, and able to thrive in a collaborative, community-focused environment
