Research Scientist, Product Engineer

This is an exciting BRAND NEW position that will be leading a team of new product development chemists to develop architectural paints for the UK/EU. This strategic leadership role will focus on driving innovation, managing global R&D initiatives, and aligning product development with international market needs and regulatory standards. This role will lead a team of highly motivated chemists in the formulation and innovation of international coatings, working collaboratively with Quality, Procurement, Manufacturing, US Product Development laboratories, Marketing, and Regulatory Affairs.
This candidate will have a proven track record of managing international (UK/EU) R&D teams and delivering innovative products while strategically leading with a keen focus on driving innovation, business objectives across international territories. This role will ensure coatings are complaint with international regulations while aligning product development with end users needs or preferences.

$135,000 - $180,000 + Bonus

Job RequirementsDesired Experience /
Qualifications:
- PhD with a minimum of 10 years or MS with 15+ years’ experience in Coatings, Polymer Science, Organic Chemistry, Materials Engineering or related fields
- Minimum 5 years of experience in managing R&D teams with a focus on international (UK or EU is ideal) or global site network
- Strong knowledge of product development life cycles, innovation methodologies, and regulatory environments
- Outstanding communication skills, both oral and writing, with the ability to convey scientific concepts clearly, effectively fostering collaborative relationships at all organizational levels
- Fluent in English (additional language skills a plus)
- Willingness to travel internationally as required
- Proficient in using formulation and lab data management software
- Skilled in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel (advanced), Power BI,)
- Microsoft platforms
- SAP knowledge
