Systems Integration Engineer | Defense Systems

Help develop, integrate, and test operational naval combat systems that protect U.S. Navy ships and allies around the world. This team supports the Aegis Combat System, one of the U.S. Navy's premier integrated air and missile defense systems.

Join a long-tenured engineering team embedded at a major defense prime supporting one of the Navy's most sophisticated operational combat systems.

This is weapon systems engineering for fielded, operational, go-to-sea combat systems that protect ships and allies around the world.

You'll be joining a specialized engineering firm that has partnered with this customer since 2007 and has specifically supported the Aegis Combat System since 2015. The 36 engineers on this program are treated as an integral part of the customer team, not as outside contractors managed at arm's length. Across the East Coast, this company hasn't had a layoff in nearly two decades.

That's not a marketing slogan. It's one of the reasons engineers build long careers here. If you're looking for meaningful technical work, strong mentorship, and an environment where you can continue growing as an engineer, we'd love to talk.

Prior Aegis experience is welcome but is not required.

You'll work across multiple phases of the systems engineering lifecycle while supporting operational Navy programs. Your responsibilities may include:

• Requirements development, decomposition, tracking, and traceability
• Verification & Validation (V&V)
• Systems Integration and Test
• Data analysis and technical investigations
• Root cause analysis and problem resolution
• Working closely with software, hardware, and systems engineering teams
• Collaborating with senior technical leaders on complex mission-critical defense programs

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline
• Active DoD Secret clearance, recently lapsed clearance eligible for reinstatement, or the ability to obtain a clearance through sponsorship, which the company can process

We're looking for engineers who have experience in several of the following:

• Systems Integration
• Requirements development and decomposition
• Verification & Validation (V&V)
• Integration and Test
• Rational DOORS or DOORS Next Generation
• Ability to read C++ and Python to investigate issues and troubleshoot defects

Experience in one or more of the following is a plus:

• Aegis Combat System
• Naval combat systems
• Ballistic Missile Defense
• Shipboard systems
• Automated testing
• MATLAB
• Cameo or other MBSE tools
• Containers or Kubernetes

This role is ideal for engineers who have built a solid technical foundation and want to continue expanding their expertise on complex operational systems. You'll work alongside experienced engineers who have spent years supporting one of the Navy's premier combat systems, gaining exposure to requirements engineering, systems integration, testing, technical investigations, and real-world operational deployments. Whether your background is in systems engineering, systems integration, verification, test, software integration, or technical analysis, you'll have the opportunity to deepen your skills while contributing to technology that truly matters.

If you're looking for a place where you'll continue learning, solve challenging engineering problems, and build a long-term career with a stable, highly respected team, we'd welcome the conversation.
