Glob Tek is hiring a Senior Power Supply Design Engineer for our design center in Northvale, New Jersey. You'll design AC-DC and DC-DC switch-mode power supplies, battery chargers and battery systems for OEM customers in medical, industrial and IT markets, and take them from concept to volume production.
What you'll do- Design AC-DC and DC-DC switch-mode power supplies across a range of topologies, from concept through EVT, DVT and volume production
- Meet performance, cost and reliability targets with designs built for manufacturing
- Design and calculate magnetics, and specify insulation systems to the applicable standards
- Qualify new products to international safety standards for ITE and medical devices
- Select components and suppliers based on performance, reliability and regulatory requirements
- Work with PCB layout, mechanical, manufacturing and quality engineering, and with our factories during development
- Turn customer requirements into cost-effective recommendations, and support customers and sales with technical information
- Take part in design reviews, review verification and validation results, and run reliability calculations such as MTBF
- Lead root cause analysis, generate engineering change orders and evaluate new technologies
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
- 10+ years of electrical engineering experience, including at least 5 years designing switch-mode power supplies
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Clear spoken and written English, and a professional presence with customers
- Able to manage several projects at once
