Assistant Township Engineer – Montville Township

The township is seeking an Assistant Municipal Engineer to assist the Township Engineer in all aspects of Engineering for the Township. Under the direction of the Township Engineer , performs and occasionally supervises staff in a variety of complex municipal engineering, planning and field inspection work. Prepares inspection reports, prepares plans & specifications for municipal capital projects, prepares cost estimates, reviews plans for proposed improvement projects and drafts correspondences and letters,.

Ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of municipal engineering experience, including design and implementation of capital improvement/ infrastructure projects, knowledge of land development approval process, site plan and subdivision review and construction administration/ inspection. Candidate must have or be on track to obtain a NJ Professional Engineers License. Proficient in AutoCAD required, proficiency in Arc Map is a plus.

Knowledgeable of NJDEP Regulations pertaining to Flood Hazard, Wetlands and NJ Municipal Land Use Law is desired. Knowledge in Spatial Data Logic and Land surveying experience is a plus. Candidates must have strong personal skills and ability to respond to general public in a professional manner. Salary range is $60,000 to $90,000 annually.
