Vice President, Finance – Monmouth Medical Center
Job OverviewThe Vice President of Finance at Monmouth Medical Center oversees all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and strategy. The role ensures financial health and compliance for the hospital, working closely with executive leadership to drive performance, manage costs, optimize revenue cycles, and support strategic growth initiatives.
Key areas of responsibility include Patient Accounts, Finance, Patient Access Management, Budgets & Reimbursement, Special Financial Projects, and Medical Records Departments. The VP directs activities related to general business operations, accounting, statistical reporting, and third‑party reimbursement.
Reports ToThe Vice President of Finance reports directly to the SVP, Southern Region CFO, with a matrixed reporting relationship to the President and CEO of Monmouth Medical Center.
Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Economics required.
- MBA or Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association desirable, but not required.
- Eight to ten years of accounting, office management, and accounts receivable experience required, of which three to five years should be in a managerial position.
- Two to three years of directly related experience in healthcare financial services, including accounts receivable, highly preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant is desired, or ten to twelve years of financial management experience, but not required.
- Strategic Planning & Budgeting: Collaborate on strategic direction, mission advancement, and manage hospital operating and capital budgets.
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Develop and manage financial forecasts, provide variance analysis and recommendations, and collaborate with department managers on robust five‑year business plans and short‑ and long‑range goals.
- Financial Reporting: Ensure accurate, timely reporting for internal use, regulators, and government agencies (including monthly closes).
- Margin & Revenue Cycle: Identify medical cost trends, lead financial improvements, and proactively manage revenue cycle metrics, charge capture, and billing performance.
- Education: Provide financial education and expertise to clinical and operational leadership.
- Regulatory Compliance: Routinely review state and federal regulations to ensure all financial and operational practices remain compliant.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and manage the site finance team, fostering a high‑performance culture.
