Underwriter, Risk Manager/Analyst

Description
As the HM Retail Underwriter Senior Specialist, you will be responsible for providing a lean decision based on an individual’s credit history, financial position and strength of collateral. Solid understanding of multiple product lines – may include government products and conventional.
Primary responsibilities include- Complete thorough review analysis of Loan files to determine compliance with various company and external guidelines.
- Review and clear conditions.
- Respond to post closing and audit reviews in a timely manner.
- Complete all data entry into loan tracking systems.
- Communicate to sales and processing through calls and emails related to Loan products, underwriting guidelines, loan scenarios and file statuses
- 5+ years of solid experience including Portfolio Underwriting/Jumbo Underwriting
- Ability to analyze a complex income and asset profile
- Experience using Automated Underwriting Systems
- Self‑directed with excellent time management skills
- Experienced as Delegated Underwriter with all approved MI companies
- Ability to analyze and evaluate sophisticated income documentation
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Desire to work in a production environment
- Proficiency in Word and Excel
- BA/BS degree preferred or equivalent experience in underwriting/mortgage banking preferred
- Direct Endorsement Certification preferred
- VA LAPP approval preferred
- Hours per Week: 40
- Work Schedule:
Monday‑Friday
