Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation
, located at 300 Market St, Saddle Brook, NJ, is an inpatient rehabilitation hospital committed to providing exceptional and compassionate care. We are seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to manage all aspects of our HR department in coordination with the Regional Human Resources Director, the corporate HR team, payroll and recruitment departments.

Position Overview

The HR Coordinator will support the HR function as a strategic partner, ensuring compliance with federal and state statutes, and facilitating smooth hiring, payroll, and employee relations processes.

Responsibilities
  • Maintains and updates employee files: HR, Employee Health, Agency and Contract Services with accurate and complete information, and maintains the HR grid and required tracking.
  • Prepares and maintains new hire packets, ensuring accurate and timely completion of the new hire process and paperwork.
  • Maintains postings, files, and procedures that are in compliance with federal and state statutes.
  • Opens and distributes all incoming mail, screens correspondence, and refers materials requiring immediate attention to the appropriate department in the absence of the HR Manager/Director.
  • Processes accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll with coordination and support from corporate payroll.
  • Coordinates recruitment processes in compliance with the hospital’s recruitment plans.
  • Proactively addresses employee concerns and coordinates investigations with the HR Manager or HR Director as necessary.
  • Processes and maintains all worker’s compensation claims in a timely manner in accordance with the company’s Return to Work program.
  • Processes all unemployment requests, FMLA and Leave of Absences accurately and promptly.
  • Ensures confidentiality and professionalism when dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Two or more years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office suite and computer applications related to Human Resources functions.
Preferred Experience
  • Exposure to a broad range of functions, with previous HR experience in a health care facility and familiarity with Joint Commission and CMS.
  • Familiarity with benefit administration, basic HR functions, Payroll Administration, and state and federal employment laws.
  • Detail‑oriented with expertise in problem solving, observation, group dynamics, and interpersonal relations.

Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 per year, based on experience.

Seniority Level: Entry level

Employment Type: Full‑time, On‑site, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
