Senior Cloud & System Administrator
Quecon, Inc. invites applications for a Senior Cloud & System Administrator to provide second level support for the Federal Aviation Administration’s Surveillance Availability Prediction Tool (SAPT). The role involves collaborating with the Volpe Department of Transportation, building and deploying new SAPT builds, and supporting all areas outside of Volpe’s scope.
Key Responsibilities- Deploy new SAPT builds for each development cycle (excluding formal testing).
- Coordinate with internal teams such as DNS, FCS (FAA Cloud Support), networking, and other groups to resolve issues through ticketing.
- Present SAPT cloud architecture and diagrams to review boards (cybersecurity and architecture).
- Support the AJM‑251 Cybersecurity team, investigating CVE impacts, applying Red Hat Enterprise Linux patches, and interacting with other groups for patch status.
- Same as above responsibilities, emphasizing ongoing support.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with at least 30 semester hours in math, CS, or statistics.
- Minimum 15 years of relevant technical experience.
- Linux experience; preference for Red Hat Enterprise Linux v8/v9.
- Experience with AWS cloud computing (Auto Scaling Groups, Launch Templates, EC2, Machine Imaging, etc.).
- Knowledge of Git revision control;
Git Lab CE administration and user experience. - Basic understanding of Apache HTTPD, Tomcat, Bash scripting, public‑private key cryptography (RSA). SELinux and FIPS Linux knowledge is a plus.
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for a Position of Public Trust. Must be a U.S. citizen or a three‑year permanent resident (green card holder). The company is unable to sponsor candidates at this time.
Location & ScheduleFacility location:
William J. Hughes Technical Center, Egg Harbor Twp., NJ. Position is onsite, 5 days a week; off‑shift hours may be required as needed.
Salary range: $80,000 – $145,000 per year, depending on experience, education, and location.
