This role ensures that materials, packaging, and finished products are sourced, processed, stored, and delivered efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with food safety regulations.

The Supply Chain Manager will work closely with vessel managers, production teams, cold storage facilities, freight carriers, and regulatory agencies to maintain optimal supply levels while ensuring product integrity and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Management
  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies that support seafood harvesting, processing, and distribution operations.
  • Monitor seasonal catch volumes, demand forecasts, and market conditions to anticipate inventory needs and logistics challenges.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs, improve cold chain efficiency, and enhance service levels.
Procurement & Vendor Management
  • Source and purchase packaging, ingredients, and operational supplies in alignment with production schedules.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and dependable delivery schedules.
  • Maintain strong relationships with fishing fleet representatives, cold storage providers, and key vendors.
Cold Chain & Inventory Management
  • Oversee all cold chain operations, ensuring product remains at proper temperatures from vessel landing to final delivery.
  • Manage frozen seafood inventory, tracking product rotation, shelf life, and quality standards.
  • Implement and monitor inventory control systems to avoid stockouts and maintain traceability.
Logistics & Distribution
  • Coordinate inbound finished goods from foreign processing plants to storage and outbound finished goods to customers.
  • Coordinate with import/export team on domestic and international freight, including refrigerated trucking, ocean containers, and air freight.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, HACCP, SMETA, BRC/SQF, and export documentation requirements.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
  • Collaborate with QA to ensure all products meet safety, labeling, and traceability standards.
  • Maintain detailed records for audits, certifications (e.g., MSC), and regulatory inspections.
Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Work with sales teams to align production and inventory availability with customer orders and market demand.
  • Partner with finance on budgeting, cost tracking, and forecasting.
  • Provide leadership with regular KPI reports on inventory turnover, delivery performance, and cost efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of supply chain, logistics, or procurement management experience in seafood, food manufacturing, or perishable goods distribution.
  • Proven track record in cold chain management and international shipping.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and inventory management software.
  • Familiarity with HACCP, FDA/USDA regulations, and international export procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to forecast demand and solve complex logistics challenges.
