Food Innovation and Product Specialist /Technologist Consultant - Full Time or Part Time

We are immediately seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Food Product Specialist (Scientist/Technologist). Confection and / or Dairy experience preferred. The ideal candidate will be located in the NYC Metro Area. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams including production, marketing, and quality assurance.

• Develop and test new food products from concept to commercialization that support the business objectives and strategic plan.
• Plan, lead, and execute bench and plant-scale production trials.
• Develop documentation including, but not limited to, operational formulas & processes, ingredient & product specifications, and laboratory experimentation.
• Conduct sensory analysis panels and analytical measurements on products to determine stability.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards (e.g., FDA, SQF, FSMA).
• Stay updated on food trends, ingredients, and regulatory changes.

• BS/MS in Food Science, Food Technology, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in product and process development.
• Proficiency in lab testing and analytical techniques.
• Able to prioritize assignments and work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Computer proficiency.
• Should be creative with new product ideas.
