Job Description
We are inviting skilled Welders, Fabricators, and Maintenance Technicians to join Wastequip Steel Division’s Erial, NJ manufacturing operation. Welcome to our hiring event (Tuesday July 29th – August 1st, 10:00 AM‑3:00 PM) with walk‑in interviews at 1031 Hickstown Rd, Erial 08081.
Base Pay Range$23.74 /hr – $23.74 /hr
Hourly Rate$23.74
Responsibilities- Position parts in jigs or fixtures on a bench or floor, or clamp parts together along layout marks.
- Lay out, position, and tack weld work pieces.
- Operate MIG welding along vertical, horizontal, and overhead weld lines.
- Connect regulator valves to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders for cutting torch; adjust gas mixture and pressure to obtain desired flame; hold & guide torch at proper angle to cut metal.
- Examine weld for bead size and other specifications.
- Scarfs or grooves welds and parts.
- Chips or grinds off excess weld, slag, or splatter.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Employee must regularly stand, walk, reach, stoop, lift, climb or balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move 90 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required include distance vision, close vision, peripheral vision, & depth perception.
- High school diploma/GED/technical school is preferred.
- Experience:
MIG welding is a must; six months or more of related experience and training preferred. - Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Knowledge of basic math, tape measure reading, fractions & decimals.
- Ability to understand and carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Ability to read blueprints and measuring tape.
- Experience in a fast paced production environment preferred.
- Ability to pass all EHS required tests and clearances.
