Registered Nurse, Operating Room, Per Diem, MMC Ambulatory Sugery Center at Rockaway

Atlantic Health System is seeking an experienced OPERATING ROOM NURSE to work per-diem at the MMC Ambulatory Surgery Center in Rockaway, NJ.

Required to work variable shifts and hours, Monday-Friday, according to the surgical schedule.

Responsible for working with other healthcare professionals to help treat patients undergoing ambulatory surgery and other procedures including but not limited to;
Colonoscopies, Ortho sports and minor trauma, Ortho hand, GYN, Laparoscopic, Plastics, Urology, General, Rectal, Podiatry, Pediatrics. Monitors patients, administers medications, keeps records, consults with healthcare providers, educates patients and more.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Maintains accurate, complete health care records and reports in EPIC
• Prepares medications for patients undergoing surgery and monitors them for side effects and reactions.
• Maintains patient safety throughout the surgical experience
• Monitors, reports, and records symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
• Assesses, implements, plans, or evaluates patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members.
• Records patient vital signs and medical information.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• ACLS, PALS and BLS certification.

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in nursing.
• Master's degree in nursing or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in perioperative nursing in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center.
• CNOR certification
• EPIC EMR
