Registered Nurse – Maternal Child Services – F/T Days

Jersey Shore University Medical Center (Neptune City, New Jersey) is seeking a full‑time registered nurse for the Maternal Child Services team, which manages the 36‑bed Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, High‑Risk Antepartum areas, a 7‑bed triage unit, and 2 operating rooms. The unit is a Baby‑Friendly Institution.

The Maternal Child Services team provides safe, evidence‑based care to mothers and babies at every stage of life.

• Deliver nursing practices according to the most up‑to‑date evidence‑based research, policies, and standards of care to provide safe and excellent individualized patient care.
• Maintain ongoing communication with patients, nursing colleagues, and other health‑care team members regarding patient status, rendered care, and treatment plans.
• Administer medications utilizing the latest bar‑scanning and documentation technologies to ensure the safest delivery of medications.
• Provide point‑of‑care electronic documentation of each patient’s assessment, plan of care, interventions, and evaluation of rendered care.
• Offer patient and family‑centered education aimed at optimizing health, wellness, and disease management.
• Participate in multidisciplinary discharge planning to ensure safe transition and continuity of care.
• Support the care of Labor & Delivery patients, Mother/Baby couplet Care, High‑Risk Antepartum care, Circulating in the Operating Room, and Newborn Nursery Care.

• Current and valid New Jersey Registered Nurse license.
• BLS/CPR certification by the American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
• Minimum six months of nursing experience or active participation in the Hackensack Meridian Health Nurse Residency program.
• Maternal Child Services experience in a hospital setting (labor & delivery, postpartum, antepartum, well‑baby nursery) preferred.
• Accomplishment of ACLS within six months (preferred).
• Accomplishment of NRP within six months (preferred).
• Inpatient Obstetrics and/or External Fetal Monitoring Certification considered a plus.
• BSN in progress or willing to obtain within three (3) years of hire.
• Excellent teamwork, accountability, and commitment to ongoing education for the highest quality of care.

Minimum rate of $42.19 hourly. HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency.
