Job Overview

Registered Nurse role at CFG Health. Part-time, night shift PT 11 pm–7:30 am. Shift differential $2.00. Experience in correctional health preferred.

RNs deliver care to inmate patients using nursing assessment protocols. Collaborate with other professionals to ensure effective patient care and achievement of desired outcomes. Maintain professionalism, safety, and HIPAA compliance.

• Maintain competency and knowledge of current standards of practice.
• Adhere to infection control policies, medication administration, and controlled substance regulations.
• Participate in quality improvement activities.
• Complete required orientation and follow facility safety rules.
• Uphold HIPAA and PREA regulations.
• Maintain punctuality and security clearance.

• Perform assessments of inmate patients in diverse settings (intake, health care unit, emergency).
• Collaborate with primary and other health care providers for continuity and timeliness of care.
• Coordinate and administer medication, therapeutic agents, and treatments.
• Promote safety culture through reporting and prevention.
• Maintain current knowledge of nursing standards and practice.
• Adhere to infection control and medication policies.
• Report medication reactions and changes in patient status.
• Provide patient education and discharge planning.
• Document all care accurately and timely using appropriate forms.
• Create a therapeutic environment and treat inmates professionally.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of the facility.

• At least 1 year nursing experience.
• Previous correctional health care experience preferred.

• Excellent critical thinking and assessment.
• Independent decision‑making.

• Strong communication and customer‑service skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Team and independent work capability.
• Respect and confidence from inmates and staff.
• Active BLS or CPR certification.

• Pass health and screening tests.
• Availability for nights, weekends, holidays.
• On‑call duty may be required.

• Stand, sit, walk, reach, and bend for prolonged periods.
• Lift up to 50 pounds.
