Job Description

Responsible for assisting with the professional role development of members of the Nursing Department as well as the implementation of programs to improve the quality of care delivered.

Principal Accountabilities:

Ensures all on-the-job training is consistent with guidelines established.

Ensures that site trainers/preceptors have the knowledge, tools, and attitude to effectively train staff.

Acts as both a formal and informal consultant, assisting with the integration of new learning into nursing practice and serving as a resource by assisting nurses in identifying problems, available educational resources, and selecting educational options.

Works with the Operations team to identify necessary changes in nursing practice and facilitates the initiation, adoption, and adaptation to change. Strives for excellence in patient care by self-monitoring and ensuring patient safety and well-being. Identifies problems and takes effective actions.

Develops and maintains awareness of needed improvements in patient care, procedures, equipment, and supplies, and makes recommendations.

Performs other relevant duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

BSN Required
BLS Required; ACLS Preferred
Minimum of 3-5 years of Adult Acute Care experience in a hospital setting as a Registered Nurse
Valid New Jersey Nursing License

Preferred:

Master's Degree Preferred or currently enrolled in a program
Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
Patient, compassionate nature
Ability to operate as part of a team, alongside physicians and nurses
Proficiency in computer-based data management programs and information systems
