Licensed Practical Nurse Per Diem UCHC EMCF (Multiple Vacancies)

University Correctional Health Care (UCHC), part of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, seeks a Per Diem Licensed Practical Nurse for the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility in Clinton, NJ. The role focuses on administering patient care under RN supervision, performing treatments and procedures, and maintaining a safe therapeutic environment.

• Initiates the admission process and assists with the identification of recurrent health problems, symptoms, and behavioral changes of the resident.
• Collects pertinent data through observation, interview, and other health team members and communicates changes in the resident’s condition to other resident care providers.
• Maintains clinical area in a clean, neat, and safe manner and participates in required counts and cleaning assignments.
• Adheres to institutional and medical unit infection control policies.
• Maintains current professional skills and continues professional growth to enhance the practice of correctional nursing and the image of the organization.

• Possession of a valid registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
• CPR certification required.
• Valid driver’s license required – must possess own vehicle or alternative means of transportation from one site to another.

• At least six (6) months of experience in an acute hospital setting is preferred.

Base salary is $29.00 per hour.
