Cape May County Park and Zoo Full Time Zoo Veterinarian

Cape May County Park and Zoo is seeking a full-time Zoo Veterinarian.

Under direction of the Zoo Director, the Zoo Veterinarian is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Cape May County Zoo that will include care of animals, management of zoo staff including but not limited to Zookeepers, budgeting, administration, and maintenance of facilities and exhibits.

Under direction of the Zoo Director, the Zoo Veterinarian shall further operate on, diagnose, and treat diseases and disorders of animals, including exotic animals; and perform other related duties as required, including but not limited to implementing zoo policies and procedures, overseeing facility operations, education, and program development.

This position requires a high level of administrative experience; therefore, preference will be given to applicants that have a history of managing staff.

Possession of a current, valid license as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine issued by the New Jersey State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners. If a candidate is not in possession of a current Doctor of Veterinary Medicine license issued by the State of New Jersey, one must be obtained within the first 6 months of employment.

$90,000 – $110,000
