House Paws Mobile Veterinary Services – Atco, NJ
Do you love fur, paws, tails, and tails that wag so hard you think the tail might create a small hurricane? Then keep reading. We at House Paws Atco are on the hunt for a Kennel Attendant / Tech Assistant who takes animal care seriously—but not themselves too seriously.
What You’ll Be Doing- Handling, restraining, and maybe serenading animals (singing optional) when needed.
- Walking dogs who need a little extra help (or just a solid strut).
- Feeding, cleaning, basic husbandry ‒ the stuff every good pet deserves.
- Assisting with meds: giving pills, topicals, whatever the prescription demands.
- Keeping kennel / care areas sparkling (or at least clean enough for pets to feel dignified).
- Keeping supplies stocked and organized: towels, food, toys, clean-ups, and more.
- Bathing or grooming animals so they walk out smelling like they just stepped out of a pet shampoo ad.
- Always learning. We’re big believers in growing skills: ask questions, try new things, get better every day.
- 2+ years working in a veterinary setting (kennel attendant, tech assistant, CSR, etc.) is a huge plus.
- Great communicator: with pets, with people, even when the pet is a bit grumpy.
- Able to juggle tasks without dropping the ball (or the leash).
- Calm under pressure. Animal emergencies don’t always come with a warning.
- Team player. Patience, positivity, and helping hands go a long way here.
- Detail-oriented: medication schedules, feeding, cleaning routines—all of it matters.
- Physical stamina: you’ll need to lift pets (40+ lbs), restrain when necessary, walk/stand a lot, get your hands dirty (sometimes literally).
- You're helping pets get excellent care in their own homes as well as in our Atco facility—less stress for them, more smiles for you.
- You’ll be part of a team passionate about compassionate, practical, and high-quality veterinary care. House Paws was founded in 2010 to bring care to where pets are most comfortable—home.
- Training, mentorship, and chances to grow within the veterinary field.
- Employee perks: discounts on pet care/products, flexible scheduling, etc.
- A place where humor is ok, kindness is essential, and wagging tails are part of the job description.
- Paid Short-Term Disability (on us).
- Employer-funded life insurance ($25,000 base, options for more).
- 401(k) with company matching after eligibility period.
- Several health insurance plans.
- Dental & vision.
- Paid time off (vacation, sick, personal).
- Pet care discounts—because your pets deserve the perks too.
- Referral bonus program.
- On-demand pay options (if available).
