Food Safety & Quality Specialist

We’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Food Safety & Quality Specialist to help propel the food safety and regulatory compliance efforts of our Central Baking facility. As a FSQA Specialist at Dorothy Lane Market Bakehouse you will play an integral role in educating and ensuring food safety and quality programs are implemented and sustained. • Performing a variety of quality assurance audits on incoming products in process production as well verification of food safety programs to ensure that they meet regulatory and company standards of quality.
• Document review and verification to ensure compliance to company and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor daily adherence to HACCP and GMP’s and work with teams on correctives.
• Evaluate Certificate of Analysis data against specification and take appropriate action when necessary.
• Promote, implement, maintain and verify food safety and quality assurance reporting standards Develop and provide written feedback to department leaders regarding non-conforming observations and corrective actions.
• Work with managers to finds solutions to QA challenges.
• Train team members on all food safety and quality assurance policies and procedures, maintain accurate records.
• Perform other duties as assigned

• 2-3 years of food safety and quality assurance work experience in food manufacturing environment.
• 2-3 years food safety inspections/audits.
• Well-developed communication skills, verbal, written, and demonstrated ability to communicate internally and externally at all levels and across disciplines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Detail oriented and analytical skills
• High School Diploma required
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, chemistry or like degree HACCP training and PQCI Certification Regulatory knowledge
