Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Laboratory/Technical Assistant for the Human Genetics Institute of New Jersey. Among the key duties of the position are the following:

• Executes experiments of molecular and developmental biology such as DNA / RNA manipulation, animal genotyping, or gene expression staining; crossing fish and obtaining embryos can be included.
• Manages lab including ordering chemical reagents, organizing the lab equipment, and processing official documents, such as, making protocol or managing budgets.

Salary Details $24 - $26 per hour

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific/technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant laboratory technician or research study experience carrying out research protocols and tests, or other technical work may be substituted for the degree.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to follow research protocols with significant attention to detail.
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn new experiments.
• Strong organizational and record keeping skills.
