Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Student Assistant for the department of Neuroscience & Cell Biology at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Under direction of the Principal Investigator, performs and assists with laboratory procedures and analyses in support of specialized research activities of the laboratory. Research focuses on the role polarity protein Par1b/MARK2 in mediating microglial activation and neuroinflammation in a mouse model.

The research project will involve examination of how a high sugar diet increased exacerbates inflammation associated with Traumatic brain injury in Par1b/MARK2 wild type and deficient mice.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• Assists lab workers as needed.
• Assists with animal husbandry and maintenance of mice.
• Organizes lab resources and assists in the set up and conducting of experiments as required.
• Reads relevant neurodevelopmental literature.

Mid Range Salary 75.00

Maximum Salary 150.00
