If you’re a high-performing flavors sales pro who knows how to win new business, grow strategic accounts, and sell across sweet and savory, this is a growth‑focused role with real territory ownership and visibility.
The roleThis position is responsible for driving growth in an assigned East Coast territory by developing new profitable business, expanding existing customer relationships, and delivering value‑added flavor solutions across both sweet and savory applications. This is not an account maintenance role. You will own your territory strategy, build pipeline, and partner cross‑functionally to bring solutions to customers.
Key responsibilities- Drive growth by developing and executing territory sales strategies to achieve ambitious targets, balancing new business development with expansion of strategic accounts
- Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, providing consultative support and value‑based flavor solutions across sweet and savory applications
- Identify and pursue high‑impact new business opportunities using strong industry knowledge and customer insights
- Partner cross‑functionally with R&D, Applications, MIH, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, Operations, and Customer Service to deliver solutions and guide commercialization
- Maintain strong awareness of food and beverage trends, competitor activity, and market dynamics to inform strategy
- Lead negotiations of contracts and agreements, and manage forecasting and pipeline through disciplined CRM management
- Provide timely reporting on sales activity, performance metrics, and account developments
- Represent the organization at trade shows, customer innovation sessions, and key industry events
- Support development of junior sales team members through knowledge sharing and mentorship
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Food Science, or a related field (preferred)
- 10+ years of value based sales experience in the flavors, ingredients, or related food and beverage industry, with a proven track record of delivering revenue growth
- Demonstrated success managing key accounts and developing new business across both sweet and savory applications
- Skilled in value‑based selling techniques and able to communicate commercial and technical benefits to senior‑level customer stakeholders
- Strong negotiation skills with proven experience closing complex contracts and agreements
- High proficiency in CRM tools (preferably Salesforce) and advanced Microsoft Excel and Power Point
- Deep knowledge of market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer needs in food and beverage
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to operate independently while collaborating cross‑functionally
- Ability to travel regularly (50%) to customer sites, HQ, trade shows, and industry events
Northeast U.S.: PA, NY, DE, NJ, CT, VT, RI, MA, NH, ME
Compensation And Benefits- Base salary: $165,000 to $185,000 per year
- PTO: 15 days plus 4 floating holidays
- Cell allowance: $100 monthly
- All reasonable travel and expenses reimbursed
