The Field Operations Lead is an exempt, field-based operational support role that combines advanced technical expertise with leadership responsibilities. This position serves as support to the Operations Manager and plays a key role in field quality, technician engagement, training coordination, scheduling support, client interaction, and operational oversight. The Field Operations Lead remains deployable as a technician when needed but primarily functions as a leader responsible for strengthening reliability, consistency, and safety across the service area.

• Conduct routine job site visits to assess safety, quality, field conditions, and technician performance.
• Provide real-time coaching, corrective guidance, and in-field instruction to reinforce proper techniques and safety expectations.
• Support scheduling and resource planning by communicating field readiness, job progress, and technician capability assessments.
• Build positive client relationships through consistent communication, updates during field visits, and professional representation of the company.
• Identify technician skill gaps and partner with the Director of Training and Operations Manager to coordinate training plans.
• Perform in-house training and onboarding for new technicians and shop personnel to ensure proper foundational development.
• Review technician paperwork, job packets, truck inventories, equipment condition, and compliance documentation.
• Monitor equipment, tool, and vehicle condition to help reduce equipment failure, downtime, and preventable loss.
• Assist with budgeting awareness by reporting field resource utilization, equipment condition, and operational inefficiencies.
• Remain deployable as a skilled technician for high-demand periods, complex jobs, or critical client needs.
• Support operational readiness by identifying emerging issues, escalating concerns, and proactively addressing technician or workflow challenges.
• Promote a strong field culture grounded in safety, accountability, respect, and continuous improvement.
• Additional duties may be assigned as determined by the needs of the business.

• Minimum 5+ years of field experience performing advanced tapping, line stopping, valve insertion, or pipe freezing work.
• Technical proficiency consistent with Master Technician-level capability, including ability to perform large-diameter work when needed.
• Ability to independently solve field issues, troubleshoot equipment, and adjust methods based on field conditions.
• Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, and guide technicians in proper procedures and safety expectations.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with all core Rangeline equipment.
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence without formal authority.
• Excellent communication skills with technicians, leadership, and clients.
• Ability to assess technician performance, recognize behavioral changes, and escalat e concerns appropriately.
• High degree of professionalism, judgment, and situational awareness.
• Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and model high accountability.
