Shift:

  • 1st Shift: 7:30am – 3:30pm
  • 2nd Shift: 3:30pm – 12:00am +10% shift differential

Pay Range: $25.00/hr – $35.00/hr (subject to skills & experience)

Summary

The 2nd Shift Level 2 Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks under moderate supervision during the second shift. This intermediate-level role requires the ability to work independently on basic maintenance activities while handling more complex tasks with some assistance. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment to ensure smooth operations. The technician must demonstrate proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and preventative maintenance while following safety protocols and operational guidelines.

This position requires flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to respond to maintenance needs efficiently during the second shift.

Responsibilities
  • General maintenance and mechanical repair tasks on vehicles and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with PLCs, hydraulics, electrical systems, controls, pneumatics, and CNC/manual equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to ensure machinery operates optimally.
  • Fabricate and weld components as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot and understand specialized equipment such as ovens.
  • Interpret repair manuals for effective execution of repairs.
  • Adhere to company safety regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to complete work orders and projects.
  • Prepare maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.
  • Document actions and communicate irregularities to maintain workflow continuity.
  • Train and support junior mechanics in maintenance techniques.
  • Demonstrate initiative, independence, and attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Communicate issues and concerns clearly and respectfully through appropriate channels.
Qualifications
  • Intermediate knowledge in troubleshooting PLCs, hydraulics, electrical systems, controls, pneumatics, and CNC/manual equipment.
  • Welding and fabrication skills.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting ovens and specialized equipment.
  • Ability to prepare and analyze mechanical maintenance reports.
  • Experience coordinating staff on projects is preferred.
  • Machinist comprehension and proficiency with machine shop equipment.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and efficient machinery troubleshooting ability.
  • Experience in training and mentoring junior mechanics.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical school certification or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Proven experience in advanced maintenance and mechanical repairs.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or mentoring role preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance or related field.
  • Proficiency in basic maintenance tools and procedures.
