How You'll Contribute:
The Senior Installation Technician is the highest-level field technician role, serving as both a hands-on technical expert and on-site leader for AV installation projects. This role provides advanced technical execution while leading installation teams (typically 3-5 technicians), applying sound judgement to manage site activities with minimal oversight. The Senior Technician ensures adherence to Diversified's standards, industry best practices, and client expectations across all aspects of AV installation.
This position plays a critical role in delivering quality outcomes, mentoring junior team members, and representing Diversified in dynamic project environments.

What You'll Do:
- Lead on-site installation teams (typically 3-5 technicians), coordinating inventory, daily activities and ensuring project milestones and quality standards are met.
- Perform advanced installation tasks, including structured cabling (pull, terminate, label, dress), device installation, soldering and connector termination, equipment rack assembly, and light physical construction.
- Serve as primary point of technical leadership on site, interpreting and executing complex project documentation and addressing field conditions in real time.
- Mentor and coach team members to promote technical skill development and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Conduct and document quality control checks to ensure installations meet Diversified and client expectations.
- Facilitate effective communication between field teams, Project Managers, Engineers, General Contractors, Subcontractors, and client stakeholders.
- Manage on-site administrative tasks, including daily reports, redline documentation, punchlist completion, and timesheet verification.
- Proactively identify and escalate project risks, field issues, or scope changes to project leadership.
- Model professionalism and customer-focused behavior on all job sites.
- Provide feedback to leadership on installation processes, tools, and team performance to support continuous improvement.
What You'll Bring:
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- 3-5+years senior installation experience installing and servicing AV/security systems.
- Expert-level proficiency in Diversified AV installation norms, practices, and quality standards.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing small field teams on active job sites.
- Advanced technical knowledge of AV system components, cabling, device integration, and rack assembly.
- Strong ability to interpret and implement complex project documentation independently.
- Skilled in problem solving and field adaptation with minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across internal teams and client-facing roles.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills with ability to balance technical and supervisory duties.
Education/ Certifications:
- AVIXA CTS or CTS-I certification achieved or in progress.
- OSHA 30 certification required or obtainable within 90 days.
- Advanced manufacturer certifications on AV systems or components.
- Proven track record leading AV installation teams on mid-size or complex projects.
- Proficient in project reporting tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and digital field documentation.
- Familiarity with project management processes, construction coordination, and site supervision.
- Prior experience contributing to process improvement or field training initiatives.
