Field/Service Technician, Maintenance Worker
Job Description
Locate Technicians are responsible for accurately locating underground facilities including, but not limited to, telephone communication lines, electric power lines, cable television lines, gas lines, fiber optic lines, water lines, and sewer lines. This position is a key component to ensure that the area is complying with client and state requirements. Service duties include observing, locating, marking, and documenting underground and exposed utility locations.
Understanding of doing so, using multiple methods is required. Locating technicians will be dispatched to locate and verify for utility customers. Technicians can work independently or in a team environment, in both circumstances technicians will work under an assigned supervisor. Ability to perform this job takes focus, skill, and the use of machinery and/or tools. Grid Hawk LLC is an equal opportunity employer.

Requirements
- In order to obtain employment with Grid Hawk LLC, candidate MUST complete a background check. Company policy requires no violations within the last 5 years.
- Candidates MUST also take and pass a DOT drug test.
- All employees are assigned proper technology and work vehicles to perform duties.
- Tools and equipment provided, including a company vehicle, laptop and smartphone.
Benefits and compensation are described below, and include eligibility for full-time benefits after meeting company policies.
- Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Schedule and duties include, but are not limited to: 10 hour shifts, Monday to Friday, on call, weekends as needed.
- Locates underground facilities by using transmitters and connecting to buried facilities, pedestals, etc.
- Works in various terrains and weather conditions in construction zones, residential, commercial, industrial, and rural areas.
- Interprets job order tickets, blueprints and maps to plan and perform duties.
- Performs locates and emergency/on-call locates as required to meet customer needs.
- Maintains professional communication with customers, co-workers and third parties; ensures a damage-free environment.
- Knowledge of technology and tools needed; ability to work with others in a supervised team environment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalency (GED)
- State issued driver's license
- Ability to solve problems; read, interpret, and decipher prints
- Vacuum truck experience preferred
- Ability to lift over 50 lbs
- Ability to walk/stand for multiple hours
- Excellent communication skills
- Pass a background screening (no violations within the last 5 years)
- Pass a DOT drug test
