Job Description

JL Dobbs Inc is seeking an experienced and skilled Crane Operator to join our team. As a Crane Operator, you will play a crucial role in providing crane rental, trucking, rigging, and storage services to our clients across New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, Northern Maryland, and New York. You will be responsible for operating cranes to lift, move, position, and place machinery, equipment, and other large objects at various job sites.

Dobbs Crane Rentals is a local crane rental company that provides crane rentals, trucking, rigging, and storage services to New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, Northern Maryland, and New York.

Responsibilities
  • Crane Operation: Operate cranes to lift, move, position, and place equipment and materials as directed.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
  • Equipment Inspection: Conduct daily inspections of cranes and related equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.
  • Rigging and Signals: Work with riggers to attach loads and communicate with ground crew using hand signals and radio communication.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on cranes to keep them in optimal working condition.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot any issues with crane operation or equipment, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of crane operation, maintenance, and any incidents that occur on the job site.
  • Client Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and ensure their satisfaction with our services.
  • Team

    Collaboration:

    Collaborate with other team members, including riggers, truck drivers, and project managers, to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
The ideal candidate should possess
  • Proven experience as a Crane Operator, preferably with a background in the construction or industrial sector.
  • Valid Crane Operator certification (NCCCO) and CDL‑A (Commercial Driver's License), and current medical card to operate.
  • Strong understanding of crane operations, rigging techniques, and safety protocols.
  • Ability to read and interpret load charts, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required.
  • Willingness to travel to different job sites within the service areas.
