Job SummaryAs a Maintenance Industrial Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our production operations. Your primary responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing all production-related equipment, providing support to process units, and performing preventative maintenance (PM) on machinery, buildings, and grounds. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining a safe work environment and supporting the overall operational success of our facility.
EssentialResponsibilities
- Work a minimum of 8 hours per shift, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, with the flexibility to handle schedule changes as required by business needs. Overtime and response to maintenance call-ins are also required.
- Follow oral and written instructions from all levels of management.
- Communicate daily with supervision both orally and electronically.
- Recognize and respond to audio and visual equipment alarms, safety alarms, and safety hazards; actively participate in the corporation’s safety programs.
- Maintain a clean-shaven appearance for compliance with the respiratory program.
- Perform confined space work.
- Remove and install piping.
- Layout and install threaded pipe fittings.
- Remove and install valves.
- Understand different types of valves and their usage.
- Design and install steam tracing systems.
- Construct and maintain rotating equipment pedestals (including concrete, grout, etc.).
- Utilize computer skills to update work orders.
- Actively participate in plant shutdown work.
- Work in high places as required.
- Climb stairways and ladders, work from man-lifts, and perform tasks involving walking, standing, sitting, kneeling, shoveling, climbing, and lifting tools and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Operate forklifts, man lifts, pipe threading machines, hydraulic presses, and other equipment used in plant maintenance.
- Recognize and correctly use appropriate gasket materials for various applications.
- Clean up work areas and ensure tools, parts, and any other items associated with the job are returned to their proper storage or disposed of properly.
- Attend seminars, safety, and trade training as directed by the company.
- Assist in other trades and help in various maintenance tasks within the plant as directed.
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial mechanical experience in the repair, inspection, and maintenance of industrial plant equipment, including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, fabricating, and diagnostics, OR an accredited trade school certification in mechanical trade and industrial theory with 3 years of actual work in the certified field.
- Relevant certification is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Actively participates in plant shutdown work.
- Ability to work in high places.
- Ability to transport heavy tools and equipment to perform assigned jobs.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required by company policy.
- Ability to transport tools and equipment weighing in excess of 50 lbs.
- Ability to manually lift and move up to 50 lbs. throughout shift. Ability to transport heavy tools and equipment to perform assigned jobs.
- Ability to work within an environment that requires bending, stooping, climbing, pushing/pulling, reaching (at or above shoulder height), twisting at the waist.
