At Firstech Environmental, Inc. (Farmingdale, NJ), our mission for the past 30 years has been to remediate contaminated sites, close USTs safely, and deliver quality site work. As a UST & Soil Remediation Heavy Equipment Specialist, you’ll turn that mission into action on the ground.

Your impact

From dawn mobilization to end-of-day demobil, you’ll excavate, move, and compact earth; support UST closures; and restore sites so communities can thrive again. You’ll set the tone for safety, collaborate with trades, and elevate teammates by sharing your know‑how.

Core functions

Operate multiple heavy machines with precision to support remediation and construction preparation

Lead and support on-site crews; communicate proactively with supervisors and project staff

Follow plans and instructions; complete tasks efficiently and on schedule

Assist craft workers, masons, and a mechanical foreman

Maintain strict health and safety compliance on site and while driving company vehicles

Wear and enforce required PPE: hard hat, hearing protection, gloves, safety glasses, respirator, and proper clothing

Train field staff; continuously learn new tasks from coworkers

Clean and clear hazardous and non-hazardous materials; clean and store equipment and tools properly

What you bring

Heavy equipment operation: 5 years (Required)
Minimum 3 years of experience with heavy equipment

Documented site remediation experience; comfortable supervising on-site crews

Valid, clean New Jersey driver’s license (no points); NJ Class A CDL preferred
40-hr OSHA HAZWOPER completed or willingness to obtain, plus annual 8-hr refresher

High school diploma or equivalent;
English language proficiency

Physical capability to stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 100 pounds

Team-oriented and able to work independently

Relevant: 1 year (Preferred);
Heavy Equipment Operator: 5 years (Preferred); heavy equipment mechanic: 3 years (Preferred)
NJDEP UST Closure (Preferred but not required)
Ability to commute to Township of Wall, NJ 07719 (Required)
Rewards Full-time hourly position with overtime paid after 8 hours/day $35.00–$40.00 per hour, commensurate with experience
