Overview
Sigma Defense Systems LLC is seeking a multi-faceted Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software systems. The Senior Software Engineer will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables and provide support on various projects, with the ability to adapt and prioritize as needed. The role involves both software development and integrating software with system hardware to provide required capabilities and features.
A working knowledge of radar principles is a key factor in meeting customer commitments.
The base salary range for this position is provided by Sigma Defense Systems LLC and is dependent on skills and experience. Your actual pay will be based on your qualifications; speak with your recruiter to learn more.
Note:
This is an on-site role with travel as necessary (5-20%).
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software systems for advanced radar and threat simulator systems.
- Ensure software meets DoD and other U.S. Government agency standards.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables; balance multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
- Integrate hardware and software components for seamless system operation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve system integration goals.
- Maintain and improve existing software; troubleshoot issues and enhance performance and reliability.
- Provide support on various projects in collaboration with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation ensuring compliance with DoD standards and regulations.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices; pursue continuous learning to enhance skills.
- Travel as necessary to meet customer needs and maintain relationships.
- 6-8 years of related software development experience.
- Experience with Embedded and/or Real-Time systems, specifically DoD sensor equipment.
- Experience working in Linux and Windows environments.
- Experience integrating software and hardware real-time systems.
- Experience developing, integrating, and testing radar systems is preferred.
- Experience with object-oriented design and multi-threading/multi-processing is preferred.
- Strong mathematical background and analytical skills.
- Experience with QT Creator, Visual Studio, Git, Git Lab, Git Hub, Google Test, Cxx Test, xUnit, CMake.
- Experience with C/C++, Linux, Windows, and C#.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher.
- Clearance will be sponsored for the right candidate.
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Master's degree is preferred.
Job Duties (not all-inclusive)
- Onsite work is required (100%).
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software for advanced radar and threat simulator systems.
- Ensure software compliance with DoD standards and regulations.
- Foster collaboration across teams to achieve system integration goals.
- Travel as necessary (5-20%) to meet customer needs and maintain relationships.
Salary Range: $130,000 - $195,000 annually.
