About the position

The Lockheed Martin Artificial Intelligence Center (LAIC) is seeking an experienced software engineer with a strong background in artificial intelligence and machine learning. The role involves supporting the Applied AI team in developing technologies and products that leverage AI to enhance capabilities for customers. The candidate will engage in all phases of the system development lifecycle, from requirements generation to deployment, and will work on a variety of projects that require innovative solutions and rapid iteration.

Responsibilities

• Develop technologies and products leveraging Artificial Intelligence.
,

• Engage in all phases of the system development lifecycle including requirements generation, system and software design, implementation, integration, and flight test.

• Conduct low TRL research and proof of concepts.
,

• Develop prototypes and build demonstrators for transition to production.
,

• Utilize AI paradigms such as computer vision, deep learning, and reinforcement learning to solve complex problems.
,

• Assume technical lead responsibilities and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.

• Experience with machine learning frameworks (Pytorch, Tensorflow, MxNet, Caffe, Keras).
,

• Proficiency in Python and libraries (Num Py, OpenCV, Scikit, Pandas, Sci Py).
,

• Experience with large dataset analysis and visualization.
,

• Active US DoD security clearance.
,

• Must be a US Citizen.

Nice-to-haves

• Master’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence.

• Experience with Linux application development.

• Familiarity with Dev Ops tools:
Docker, Git, CI/CD, unit testing frameworks.

• Experience with training deep neural networks and AI algorithms.

• Proficiency in C++, Java, and other compiled languages.

• Experience with modern Computer Vision and RF signal processing.

• Familiarity with high-performance computing and network/messaging protocols.
