$16.00/hr - $35.00/hr

Position type and expected hours of work
  • Both full and part positions available with varied hours based on business needs.
  • Typical hours for a personal trainer may start as early as 5 am on weekdays; night shifts may end as late as 9 pm. Weekend shifts are approx. 7 am–1 pm.
Pay Structure

This is a performance‑based position. Pay includes hourly, commissions and bonuses. You are rewarded on your own merit, and your ability to continually grow your own client base is what makes you successful!

What You’ll Do
  • Establish a personal training client base and continually grow your own base of clients.
  • Deliver safe, professional, exciting and comprehensive personal training programs to ensure clients are satisfied and motivated to attain their goals.
  • Track client progress and store information securely in URGE's database (availability, workout programs, goals, injuries/limitations, body fat, weight, BMI).
  • Maintain knowledge and promote URGE FITNESS programs, services, and products.
  • Market yourself to the membership base: social media, walking the floor, engaging with customers, courtesy calls, email marketing, etc.
  • Conduct various fitness sessions: 1‑on‑1 training, mobility/stretch, youth fitness, semi‑private (up to 4 people), large group (up to 20 people), and boxing (URGE certified and trained).
  • Be scheduled for a mix of classes, admin time, and open availability to train 1‑on‑1 clients.
What You’ll Need
  • Ability to build relationships with members.
  • Excellent customer service and promotional skills; energetic, enthusiastic, and motivational.
  • Extensive knowledge of fitness, cardiovascular training, nutrition, and program design.
  • Ability to demonstrate exercises and adjust weights and equipment; excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Word and Excel).
  • Reliable transportation (not public transportation).
Uniform Requirements
  • Purchase an URGE COACH shirt ($25–$30) prior to employment; reimbursement may be offered.
  • Wear black, long workout pants.
  • Wear sneakers.
  • Provide your own time‑tracking device (stopwatch or smartwatch). Cell phone not authorized for tracking.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid CPR/AED certification required before employment.
  • Nationally accredited personal training certification.
  • Four‑year degree in exercise science, sports medicine, or related field is a bonus.
  • One year personal training experience preferred.
  • Program design experience preferred.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to perform aerobic activity for entire class or session.
  • Frequent bending, moving, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, standing, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs routinely, occasionally up to 100 lbs.
  • Vision requirements: close, distant, depth, and adjusting focus.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be provided for disabilities.
Work Environment
  • Health club environment.
  • Interaction with club employees, customers, and vendors.
  • Standard office equipment use (computers, phones).
  • High‑paced environment requiring multitasking and engaging multiple customers simultaneously.
  • Shifts may be 35+ hours without a break; employees must be comfortable working continuously without a break.
