2nd Assistant Superintendent

Somerset Hills Country Club is a prestigious, private club ranked in the top 100. It’s an 18-hole facility located in Bernardsville, NJ, Designed by A.W. Tillinghast in 1918. Renowned for its classic design and pristine conditions, Somerset Hills is a nationally recognized club with a rich history. Somerset Hills offers assistants an opportunity to gain experience not offered by the vast majority of clubs in the top 100 while also allowing for a solid work-life balance.

We are seeking a 2nd assistant to join the Greens Department at Somerset Hills. While living on the course, assistants will convey the standards associated with working at a high end club in a fun and fast paced environment. A focus on education gives assistants an opportunity to grow significantly in both turfgrass management and network building. Weekly “turf talks” act as an open discussion on a relevant topic.

This is a role designed to further careers and help people understand the “why” behind decisions. Regardless of an employee’s title, all members of the SHCC turf team are considered “Superintendents-in-training.” We collectively work towards one main goal, providing playing conditions that can compete with anyone!
