Dispatcher – Oldcastle APG
Job Summary
This position is responsible for the dispatch function, coordinating with sales department, shipping, receiving, customers, truck services and logistics operations. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast‑paced, covered and uncovered manufacturing facility.
Job Responsibilities- Validate packing slips, ship tickets, and other delivery documentation by auditing, recording and interpreting shipping documentation, weights & measures, labels and production schedules.
- Operate weighing scales and maintain shipping, receiving, and related production records.
- Review for accuracy and process receiving of raw material.
- Prepare delivery tickets and related shipping documents.
- Check and review all orders assigned before they are shipped against delivery tickets.
- Work closely with truck drivers to ensure delivery date/times are accurate, D.O.T. compliance with load weight and secure loads are met.
- Accurate record keeping of each truck entering and leaving the site as well as the weight of all materials entering and leaving the site.
- Use computers, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Maintain strong information storage and filing skills.
- Analyze data and make computations as required.
- Familiarity with scale operation and shipping is an asset.
- Prepare invoices, delivery tickets, and related shipping documents.
- Maintain accurate data entry and document handling—categorize, file, and maintain ship ticket copies for audit purposes and file all customer records.
- Coordinate deliveries with trucks and customers to ensure delivery time accuracy.
- Plan and schedule effective delivery routes to cover loads efficiently.
- Perform other duties related to the nature of the job as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience in a related function.
- Minimum one to three years of related experience.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Mathematical and communication skills.
- May require occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Walking and standing for long periods of time.
- Ability to climb flights of stairs throughout the day.
- $22 - $23/hr
