* Summary:

** Performs pre-analytical duties on specimens for Pathology, includes Histology and Cytology.
*
* Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

*** Accessions specimens
* Specimen embedding
* Performs slide cover slipping and labeling as needed
* Manual routine and special staining
* Cleans and maintains instruments
* Assists pathologists with bone marrow procedures as necessary
* Specimen rotation/disposal
* Assists with inventory control
* Assists in accessioning, staining, and cover slipping specimens for Cytology when needed
* Other duties as required for departmental operation
* Promotes a clean and safe environment of care, utilizing the SAFE error prevention habits
* Provides the highest standard of privacy and confidentiality in matters involving patients, coworkers, and the hospital by abiding by the Standards of Conduct
** Requirements:
** High school diploma or equivalent required;
Associates degree in a science related field preferred. Two years additional training in biology, medical terminology, and laboratory sciences preferred.
** Work Shift Details:
** Days, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with rotating Saturdays
