Job Overview
The Patient Services Coordinator Float is responsible for delivering exceptional patient‑centered customer service and providing team support to IBJI staff across multiple clinics. The role involves rotating regularly between Plainfield, Channahon, Joliet, Mokena, New Lenox, Frankfort, Shorewood, Homer Glen, and Munster, IN sites.
Key Responsibilities- Welcome patients and visitors and provide highest quality customer service.
- Answer general inquiries and schedule appointments.
- Perform phone reception, patient triage and escalation to appropriate staff.
- Handle registration/pre‑registration procedures, review patient demographics, insurance, and advise on required documents.
- Manage check‑in/out procedures and patient chart.
- Collect and post patient responsibility payments, including copays and deductibles.
- Verify insurance and manage referrals as required.
- Assist in training and mentoring new staff within the department.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform other office duties as assigned.
- Rotate regularly between listed clinics; cover planning or call‑off coverage as needed.
- Provide coverage for opening, mid, and closing shifts Monday through Friday.

- Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s degree preferred (healthcare concentration a plus).
- Experience
- Minimum 3 years customer service experience, medical office experience a plus.
- Minimum 1 year in a patient services related role.
- Preferred EHR experience with Epic.
- Skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
- Ability to handle highly confidential, sensitive and non‑routine information.
- Familiarity with scheduling and rearranging appointments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Windows‑based applications.
- Insurance payer and eligibility knowledge.
- Team player, strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Fast‑paced environment with a flexible schedule.

- Results‑oriented with concern for appropriate process.
- Willingness to attend and complete ongoing training.
- Hand dexterity for office machine operation, calculator, computer keyboard.
- Stooping, bending or reaching to files and supplies; wearing a headset; mobility to complete errands or deliveries; sitting for extended periods; viewing a computer monitor.
- Flexible schedule to meet demanding scheduling environment.
- Fast paced office environment with frequent contact with physicians, staff, patients, and the public.

Base salary: $23 per hour.
