Infusion Registered Nurse

Metro Infectious Disease Consultants is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for supervision and administration of infusion therapy at the clinic located in New Lenox, IL
.

• Place peripheral lines (peripherally inserted central catheter) for new patients, teach infusion patients how to self‑administer medications, and document in Medical Records.
• Review and chart daily laboratory results, passing information to physicians and/or patients as needed.
• E‑prescribe prescriptions at doctor's order and communicate to pharmacies.
• Receive and return patient and other telephone calls.
• Review EMR charts for next day's appointments, ordering laboratory results, consult reports or notes as necessary and document all required fields within EMR to be eligible for meaningful use.
• Respond to telephone calls, meet patients in the office and schedule patients to come to the office as needed.
• Participate in quality assurance and educational activities as requested.
• Use clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient‑care needs, establishing priorities.
• Monitor the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
• Participate in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications with the facility.
• Support professional practice by observing the following:
  1) Standards of Nursing Practice;
  2) JCAHO, state and local laws;
  3) MIDC policy.
• Other duties and tasks as assigned.

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current IL RN license.
• At least 2 years RN office practice experience, preferably in an infusion‑related practice.
• Infusion experience.
• Chemo experience preferred, but not required.
• Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients: measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, and COVID‑19.
