Musical - Sound​/Lighting Engineer

Overview

Nathan Hale Arts Magnet School is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sound/Lighting Engineer to support the technical needs of our school musical. This temporary, stipend-based position is ideal for someone with experience in theatrical sound, lighting, or technical production who enjoys problem-solving and collaborating with an artistic team.

Location:

Nathan Hale Arts Magnet School.

• Support and implement all sound and lighting elements for the production.
• Collaborate with the Director and Music Director to design a sound and lighting plan that meets the creative and practical needs of the show.
• Maintain all sound and lighting equipment, making recommendations regarding rentals, purchases, or repairs.
• Program cues into the lighting and sound boards for use during rehearsals and performances.
• Provide technical support during tech week and performance days.
• Perform additional production duties as assigned.

• Experience in theatrical lighting, sound engineering, or technical theatre.
• Ability to design and execute basic lighting and sound plots.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with common equipment and software.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with artistic and production staff.
• Experience working with students or in educational theatre is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities.

Stipend: $1,100 for the full production period.
