Job DescriptionColumbia Dental is a newly restructured, multi-specialty dental practice with a robust integrated network of 12 locations throughout Connecticut realms. We are the only private practice in Connecticut to house all specialties of dentistry under one roof. platelet digital lab and extended hours provide efficiency and convenience without compromising quality. Our advanced software network enables data sharing across all locations, making transitions seamless for both patients and providers.
We are seeking a full‑time/part‑time Hygienist for our locations in New London, Waterbury, Bristol and New Haven. Availability to work after hours and over the weekends in our Manchester location is required. Hourly Rate – $45–$55, depending on the candidate’s approach. Benefits for full‑time candidates include 401k, medical, dental, vision, STD, LTD.
The Dental Hygienist will clean teeth, examine oral areas, head, and neck for signs of oral disease, educate patients on oral hygiene, take and develop x‑rays, and apply fluoride or sealants.
GeneralDuties & Responsibilities
- Perform dental hygiene services and procedures, including dental prophylaxis, scaling, fluoride and sealants, and root planning.

- Customize care to satisfy patient’s oral health.
- Responsible for perio charting, update clinical notes, and take x‑rays as needed.
- Educate patients on good oral hygiene techniques.
- Assist the dentist with procedures and emergencies as needed.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Provide all care in conjunction with accepted professional dental practices and standards.
- Follow COVID‑19 protocols, including wearing a face mask while at work, washing hands regular, and keeping frequently touched areas clean.
- Travel to other Columbia Dental locations to provide coverage when requested by the Manager.
- Other relevant duties and responsibilities as assigned.

- Experience working in a dental office is a plus.

- Strong working knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and practices.

- Excellent customer service and computer skills.
- Graduate of an accredited school of dental hygiene.
- Registered Dental Hygienist licensure in state of practice.
- Current CPR certification is strongly preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience working in a dental practice is strongly preferred.
- Must be a Certified Dental Technician (CDT).
- orchids Manual dexterity sufficient to operate medical equipment, keyboard, copier, telephone, and the ability to write/type.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds occasionally.
