Term of Employment: Hourly work making home visits outside of contracted work hours, up to 15 hours per school year, up to 4 hours in any one week, not to exceed a total of 40 hours in any one week combined with other hours worked
Primary Function: To connect directly with families and students to encourage strong engagement and attendance for students.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities- Complete LEAP Home Visitor training and implement program following identified protocols.
- Maintain active caseload of families engaged in the LEAP process, including scheduling and completing home visits.
- During each home visit, work with both parent and child whenever possible to identify barriers to engagement and attendance.
- Discuss healthy child development, school readiness, parent involvement in school, racial equity and advocacy related topics.
- Deliver LEAP materials and district information; engage families with various topics and opportunities available through the district.
- Complete and submit all “Home Visit” forms in a timely manner, ensuring high data quality.
- Exit families from program when appropriate. Ensure a post-survey is completed and filled out by each family at the 6‑month or year mark, or when family exits the program.
- Complete weekly timesheets and mileage forms and submit to supervisor by deadline. Schedule is flexible based on scheduled family needs.
- Attend all required LEAP meetings and District Attendance Team Meetings.
- Maintain regular communication and connections back to students’ schools in order to support school staff in continued family support and educational success.
- A high school education or the equivalent required, Associate’s or Four-Year Degree preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with adults and children.
- Must be organized and detail oriented.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish).
Performance Evaluation: Annually by Executive Director of School and Family Supports.
Salary: $35.00/hour
