Overview
New London Public Schools is seeking dependable, bilingual tutors to support our multilingual learners through small-group instruction, under the supervision of certified educators. This part-time role is ideal for individuals passionate about education, language support, and student success.
Job Goal: To ensure each assigned student receives a consistent, high-quality educational experience aligned with their individual learning goals, as directed by certified staff.
Job Responsibilities- Collaborate with certified staff to identify student needs and plan instruction
- Provide instructional support in a small-group, push-in setting
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and mandated instructional minutes
- Communicate regularly with certified staff regarding student progress
- Use instructional materials provided by certified staff
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal or ESOL Teacher
- At least two years of successfully completed college coursework or an Associate’s degree
- Ability to manage student learning programs under the guidance of certified staff
- Proficiency in English and one or more of the following target languages:
- Haitian Creole/English
- French/English
- Spanish/English
- Reliability and a strong commitment to consistent scheduling
- Experience working in a classroom setting
- Experience and/or training in supporting English Learners
- Part-time, hourly position
- Schedule and hours based on school needs and tutor availability
