Bookkeeper - Franchise Location

Join H&R Block as an experienced Bookkeeper at a franchise location. You’ll deliver exceptional bookkeeping, payroll, and customer service, supporting our brand purpose to help and inspire communities worldwide.

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers
• Reconcile and balance accounts
• Generate and analyze financial statements
• Prepare and process payroll
• Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate and prepare tax statements
• Communicate with clients, client suppliers, vendors, and banking contacts
• Assist in client retention and client growth opportunities

• High school diploma or equivalent
• National bookkeeping and payroll certifications from the National Bookkeeping Association, or ability to obtain them
• 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and generally accepted accounting principles & procedures
• Ability to interpret and apply instructions, policies, and regulations
• Confidentiality and discretion with sensitive information
• Analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills, able to multi‑task and work independently

• Experience with Xero accounting software
