Lead General Foreman Carpenter

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Construction Superintendent with strong leadership and supervisory experience to oversee multiple crews in all phases of civil construction projects.

• Read blueprints and specifications to determine scope of work, locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
• Identify tools needed and assess safety risks and precautions to eliminate those risks.
• Illustrate in-depth knowledge of civil crafts.
• Tactically plan operations: schedule workloads, allocate crews efficiently, and minimize costs.
• Manage crews regarding processes, scheduling, costs, employee relations, and employment needs.

• Minimum 5 years working with industrial, carpenter/civil construction.
• Minimum 3 years supervisory experience.
• Proficient in managing crew, time, and costs.
• Demonstrated industrial construction/maintenance history.
• Ability to read construction drawings, technical manuals, and manufacturer instructions.
• Expert knowledge in civil crafts.
• Excellent organizational, time management, problem‑solving, and manual dexterity.
• Ability to lead others and provide detailed instructions.
• Strong reading comprehension and communication skills.
• Team player capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to Zachry values and safety rules and regulations.

• Former Zachry employee or currently ROF’ed employee.
• Basic computer efficiency.
• Formal or technical education.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, sit, and lift for extended periods.
• Use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects.
• Capable of lifting, carrying, and moving up to 50 lbs.
• Will work at heights, climb ladders, stairways, and occasionally off platforms/scaffolding with proper fall protection.
• Must work in all weather conditions while wearing appropriate PPE.
• Required PPE may include hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, mask/respirators, hi‑vis safety vest, leather gloves, and steel‑toed boots.

This position will be responsible for multiple crews led by foreman supervisors. May manage up to 4 crews, each with 5‑15 workers. Foremen will report directly to this position.
