We are seeking a Hospitalist Physician for a 70-day assignment in New Mexico. The schedule involves 14 shifts per 28 days, either 7-on-7-off or 3-4 contiguous shifts, with daily hours from 7:30 AM-7:30 PM. This role focuses on taking admissions from the Emergency Department, managing short-term observation/boarding patients, and handling transfers while adhering to EMTALA requirements.

Manages critical-care patients within a 55-bed inpatient capacity, including a 5-bed ICU - Staffing Mix:
Full support staff - EMR: RPMS
Responsibilities
- Taking admissions from the Emergency Department.
- Managing patients requiring short-term observation/boarding.
- Discussing and managing transfers from outside Emergency Departments/Urgent Cares.
- Working within EMTALA requirements.
- Performing central line placement, paracentesis, lumbar puncture, thoracentesis, and joint aspiration.
- Providing comprehensive hospitalist care for inpatient patients.
- Managing general medicine admissions and inpatient medical care.
- Cross-covering adult patients and coordinating discharge planning.
- Responding to emergencies and consulting with other services.
- Referring or transferring patients when the facility cannot provide the necessary level of care.
- Admitting and managing patients in the Intensive Care Unit, including those requiring vasopressors and ventilator support.
- Ventilator management is required.
