Anesthesiologist coverage is sought to address current staffing needs within the Anesthesia Department.

Carlsbad, New Mexico is situated in the Chihuahuan Desert along the Pecos River at an elevation of 3,295 feet. The anesthesiologist will provide day shift coverage Monday through Friday at a community hospital operating room in Carlsbad, NM, with call responsibilities every 4th week covering Monday through Thursday from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The surgical case mix includes bread and butter cases and obstetric procedures, with an average of 262 cases and 20 deliveries per month. This role is predominantly hands-on, with 95% MD hands-on involvement under an autonomous practice model with 1 CRNA.

Board certification in Anesthesiology and prescriptive authority are required for this assignment.
