Position: TPT - English (FA25 - SU26)
Location: El Cerro

Position Summary

The Humanities Division at UNM‑Valencia is accepting applications for Temporary Part‑Time Faculty members to teach English courses at the 1000‑2000 college level in Fall 2025, Spring 2026, and/or Summer 2026 semesters. Positions are contingent upon the need of each semester as determined by student enrollment levels and current course offerings.

Valencia Campus is located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia County. It functions as a community college and is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution. With an emphasis on teaching excellence, the campus offers academic transfer programs, technical programs, Adult Education, and Dual Credit courses to high schools in Valencia and Socorro counties. The faculty and staff serve a student body of over 2,000 students per semester.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
  • A Master's Degree in English (or related field)
  • One‑year English teaching experience at the post‑secondary level
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A Ph.D. or MFA in English (or related field)
  • One‑year English teaching experience at a community college
  • One year teaching experience using Canvas
  • Excellence in teaching (documented via student or supervisor evaluations)
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
