Duties Summary :
The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Education Services Officer (ESO) in providing professional and specialized administrative and technical assistance in the development and operation of all education and training services programs. Duties :
1. Provides individual career, academic and force development advisement to military personnel of all ranks, their dependents and professional development opportunities at various levels.
2. Assess program effectiveness..
3. Plans and administers a variety of education programs that range from basic education programs to Master's degree programs in order to meet the needs of the active duty personnel and Department of Defense (DoD) civilians.
4. Serves as the installation technical expert for the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF). 5. Performs a variety of outreach to promote educational programs.
6. Establishes and maintains suspense dates in order to submit required documentation/information for the various programs and follow-ups as appropriate. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Requires an extensive knowledge of DoD objectives, policies, procedures or pertinent regulatory requirements affecting civilian and military education/training programs and the ability t analyze, (cont) * (cont) plan an adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives with available resources as applicable
* Work occasionally requires travel away from the normal duty station
* Personnel data to which the incumbent has access is controlled by the Privacy Act of 1974 and must be safeguarded appropriately
* Must keep abreast of developments in the educational counseling field and career field needs of the Air Force as well as occupational needs in civilian life by regularly reading a variety of professional journals and related publications
* Must meet the positive education requirements as stipulated by US OPM for the 1740 occupational series
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
* Limited Area of Consideration - AF Internal Employee at Air Education and Training Command Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions, to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the GS-1740, Education Services Series.
** Basic Requirement for GS-1740 Positions: A Bachelor's degree (or higher degree that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the position to be filled in one or a combination of the areas described below. At least one course must have been from (1) or (2) below. (For guidance counselor positions, a college or university-sponsored practicum in counseling is also required):

Experience:
One year of specialized experience for GS-1740-11 which includes professional knowledge of education theories, concepts, principles, and practices applicable to a wide range of duties in the broad area of education to include: career planning, educational and interest testing, and professional military education. Professional knowledge of a wide range of education services, policies and regulations to deliver programs and services which include coordination of logistical support with academic institutions and scheduling activities.
