Wild Roots Village is seeking a warm, grounded, and dedicated Early Childhood Assistant to join our early childhood program beginning Fall 2026 (potential for Summer 2026).
This role is ideal for someone who is Waldorf trained or currently in Waldorf teacher training, with a sincere interest in Rudolf Steiner’s understanding of human development and an ongoing study of Anthroposophy. We are looking for a candidate who values rhythm, meaningful work, reverence for childhood, and the cultivation of a nourishing, play‑based environment.
A deep understanding and acceptance of the role of the assistant teacher is essential. The assistant serves as a quiet support and “moon reflector” of the lead teacher, working intuitively within the classroom—stepping in where needed while maintaining sensitivity to the space, the children, and the pedagogical flow. This includes the ability to model purposeful work, imitation, and presence without interfering with the child’s play or the lead teacher’s guidance.
